From Average Student To PhD Student
I grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Living in the land of Messi and mate is not for everyone. Since I was born, Argentina has been in an economic crisis, currently in the top 3 of the highest inflation in the world, followed by Venezuela and Zimbabwe.
With no money and a computer, I never had the opportunity to read a book.
Luckily, better times came. I enrolled at the University of Buenos Aires to study Psychology, where I re-found my passion for neuroscience and learning new topics. At the same time, I worked as a gardener until I had enough money to do the work and travel program in the United States.
After this, I became financially independent and bought a computer and many books.
I’m not kidding when I tell friends that half of the weight in my luggage was books haha
Since then, everything changed. I started learning German, programming, data science, neuroscience, and the best strategies to master any topic. I discovered the science of learning and ultra-learning, which made me learn whatever I wanted.
Learning how to learn changed my life.
My learning skills gave me opportunities for many internships as a research assistant in Neuroscience and Psychology. And 3 months ago, I was notified that I got selected to study for a PhD in Computational and Comparative Neuroscience in Germany.
Many people say they are not “smart enough”.
However, this view is wrong and it creates a barrier to success. I want to show you how you can learn anything, for real. With the right strategies, you will ace your exams and become a super-learner.
And that’s what Super Learning Lab is about: to help people learn anything.
In the following posts, I will share the best scientific-based strategies to study and learn effectively. Stay tuned :)
Until the next time,
Axel
Boom!
